Schwarzenegger’s Showing His Convictions
According to this Foxnews.com article, Governor Schwarzenegger is facing
some criticism from his Austrian countrymen over his support of the death penalty. It’s when you see his response — returning the ring that his home
town gave him and demanding that his name be taken down from the stadium named after him (to end the dispute) — that you realize that he is
more than willing to follow through on his convictions. It can’t be easy to make decisions like he’s had in the face of other Hollywood folks
and people back in Austria all being critical of him. To proactively send back the ring and ask that his name be taken off the stadium not only shows
that he is listening to the criticism but that he is actively sticking to his convictions in a way that I suspect few expected. I’d say so far that
Arnold has seriously exceeded a lot of people’s expectations and he is clearly following his own path in the political arena despite the winds of adversity.
