In Code: A Mathematical Journey : Sarah Flannery

Wednesday, September 24th, 2003

I was speaking with Brandon on the phone, and his discussion of algorithms reminded me that I still needed to finish In Code: A Mathematical Journey : Sarah Flannery : ISBN 0761123849. He of course wanted to know what would even alert me to the book and I had to verify that I read [...]

Are They Surviving?

Friday, September 19th, 2003

Well, based on the fact that his answering machine picked up, I would guess that Brandon and Doris are okay. At least there is electric to their current home.

Personal World Clock

Wednesday, September 17th, 2003

Curious as to what the time was GMT or UTC I chanced into this configurable site via my company’s own link to it — The Personal World Clock. That link is to my personal configuration of the clock which has a more customized list of cities to my liking. Obviously there are a [...]

Naval Observatory Time

Wednesday, September 17th, 2003

When looking up sunset times for Phoenix surrounding my trip out there in October, I found the Naval Observatory’s site which of course provides Complete Sun and Moon Data for One Day with no silly ads. My tax dollars at work!

eBay Junkie

Terrorists (Or Not)

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2003

Found this article on foxnews.com about the labelling of groups as terrorists (or not). I think many Americans would be a little more understanding of Israel’s actions if they really stopped and thought about what Hamas was really doing.

Danny as the Free Backup

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003

It appears to some that part of the Redskins manuever is confidence that they can get Danny whenever they want him because nobody will sign him. Basically a third quarterback without having to pay the salary — see(ESPN.com - NFL - Pasquarelli: Three’s a crowd)

Danny Job Hunting

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003

After reviewing the rosters of the teams I mentioned previously, it looks to me like Danny is going to have real trouble finding a spot somewhere. His two indirect friends in finding a job would be the salary cap and injuries.

Close Call

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003

Interesting enough, a company that some folks I know have worked for and that had actively recruited my services as well has had their president resign amidst a real firestorm of accusations — State: Troubled business may lose contract with state. I guess it’s REALLY good I didn’t get mixed up with all that.
