Victory for W
I couldn’t find a single article to truly some up what I feel about the election. I am proud of the way Evangelicals turned out in record numbers. It’s about time. I am pleased with the sweeping victory when you see the number of states, the number of votes. I suspect he really did as well as any Republican could have done and it really seems to be an answer to prayer. It’s going to be a tough 4 years. The economy could tumble, terrorists could strike again, Iraq could linger, and all sorts of other issues with the Supreme Court could crop up. But for middle class Americans, this is a huge win. Bush has his sights set on the tax code and I look forward to an aggressive campaign to simplify and make the code more fair. Without action, in 2 or 3 years, hundreds of thousands of middle class Americans will fall victim to the Alternative Minimum Tax (ATM). The marriage penalty, death tax, and some other things could end up back at full force without making many of the tax cuts permanent or without a rewrite. For now, I’d say things are looking up.
