Global Warming Statistics and Selective Truth
This great article at the Georgia Public Policy Foundation site points out the falicy in argument used to support the global warming theory. The argument was that the Brown Thrasher is responding to global warming by spending less time in Georgia and in fewer numbers. What’s important to keep in mind as you read Harold Brown’s in-depth response is that people with an agenda will grab onto any fact to advance their position. So the point is that while the Brown Thrasher is possibly disappearing from Georgia, there are a whole host of birds that are now showing up in Georgia that weren’t here before (moving deeper into the south). So really, looking across the spectrum of all birds it appears that perhaps the opposite is true. And as the author points out, many towns in Georgia (outside of Atlanta) are showing cooling trends for the past 100 years rather than a warming trend. Just something to keep in mind the next time you read a doom and gloom article about the environment or anything else for that matter. Chances are, no matter what the source, you’re not getting the whole story.
