Hurricane Ivan Makes Erin Look Pretty Small
Despite what the idiotic Weather Channel hosts have been saying, there was another Hurricane in Pensacola’s recent history. Opal was the second hurricane of 1995 to hit to the panhandle but Hurrican Erin was the first. While barely ranked as a category 2 hurricane, Erin did as much or more damage in Pensacola proper than Opal did. But looking at the Ivan images and knowing the data, it’s clear that this is a much stronger storm. And while the eye of Ivan may not pass directly over Pensacola, the worst part of the storm will. Our prayers are with our family and friends who are enduring it right now.
