Max Clelend is an Idiot
I have always said that former Senator Max Cleland is a total nutt case and based on his remarks and attempt to enter the Bush Ranch, he has only continued to prove my point. Luckily, he didn’t end up winning re-election in Georgia or I would have had to follow up with my threat to run against him. All this is related to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads against Kerry. Bush has said he doesn’t like any of the 527 group ads (which include the moveon.org ads that Kerry has yet to renounce). What I like is this quote in the letter from supporters of the President to Kerry:
The letter from the president’s supporters says Kerry cannot claim to be a war hero while also claiming that he and his crewmates committed atrocities against the Vietnamese people. They also caution him against trying to silence his critics.
“You can’t have it both ways. You can’t build your convention and much of your campaign around your service in Vietnam, and then try to say that only those veterans who agree with you have a right to speak up. There is no double standard for our right to free speech. We all earned it.”
What is immediately obvious is that Max seems to think that he can storm in anywhere because he is an amputee who served in Vietnam and anyone who questions him (or Kerry) is just slime. Max is just grandstanding. This has nothing to do with truth or doing what is right. This is about him trying to get Kerry elected and to secure himself a high-ranking position.
