Kerry Cambodia Visit Scrutinized

I find it almost amusing how furious the Democrats are regarding someone questioning Kerry’s service in Vietnam. I don’t suspect there has ever been another presidential campaign so based on 4-months of someone’s life (and something that happened in 1968 / 1969). If they are going to try to base Kerry’s appeal on 4 months in Vietnam — continously showing home movies shot in Vietnam (with editing assistance by Spielburg) — they shouldn’t be so shocked when somebody starts poking holes in the stories. They know they can’t hold up his many years in the Senate as an example since it would prove how liberal he is or how inconsistent he is. Instead they pick 4 months from Vietnam to be the “image” of the man. I find this quote from a related article funny:

The Kerry campaign first asserted that the Massachusetts senator never said that he was in Cambodia, only that he was near the country. But when presented with a copy of the Congressional Record and asked about Kerry’s letter in the Boston Herald, the campaign said it would come up with an explanation.
