Burried in this Atlanta Braves News article about the Hall of Fame game the Braves played against the Twins is a simple stat that indicates that Bobby Cox did, in fact, go through with his promise to allow Brave’s long time bullpen coach Bobby Dews catch at least one batter. If you read the messed up box score at the bottom of the page (errantly identifying the Braves as Baltimore), you see Dews name and the letter C indicating that he caught for at least one batter. Pretty cool for a 65-year old!
