Anti-Open Source?
The Institue for Policy Innovation has an article on why Open Source Software isn’t the best way to develop software. I can’t say I am that crazy about their article but they do raise a few good points. The problem I have with it is that I don’t believe that the biggest push of the open source community is that it is the best way to develop software. But the fact that I am a personal beneficiary of open source software or freely available software makes me hesitant to slam on it like this. The fact is that we need to need herald open source software as the holy grail or as a false promise. It just needs to be considered a viable alternative.
