Skip Caray Gets a Pace Maker
I found this article about the Braves’ Skip Caray feeling better after getting pacemaker. What I thought was going to be just about his health ended up talking about the situation with the TV broadcasting. I especially enjoyed the part that alluded to the Turner Executives who made the temporary switch to put Skip and Pete only on TV for the limited Turner South games saying “Turner Sports officials who executed those moves have either taken new positions with the company or left.” What is funny is that as much as I don’t like old Ted… at least he knew what people wanted. People wanted to watch and root for the Braves on TBS. It’s what was expected and what people enjoyed. A bunch of out of touch execs got together in a room and decided what they wanted but it wasn’t what the viewers wanted.
