Hitchhiker’s Guide
I found this news item about Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy on the official Douglas Adams web-site. I had gone there just as a precursor to writing an entry about my new favorite show, Faking It which generally appears only on BBC America. However, TLC has made a few episodes as well. On this week’s episode (on BBC America) we see the effect of Hitchhiker’s Guide in society once again as the main character parody’s a quote from the book by fitting her circumstance (which was to learn how to be a competitive latin ballroom dancer in 28 days). I nearly doubled over in laughter and had to pause the show to regain my composure when she said “When the revolution comes, Sammy (a teacher she had had an encounter with) will be the first one against the wall and the rest of ballroom dancing will be next.”
