After watching it fly around for about 15 minutes, I googled how to catch a trapped hummingbird. Thank you so much!! We turned off the lights, it landed on top of a cupboard, I scooped it up in my hands, and took it outside. It flew up into a tree-- I hope it will be okay, because it's still dark outside... Lots of hummingbirds in the yard. This year is the first year that they've been getting caught in the skylights. May be because we have a hanging basket with red petunias on the porch this year. Can't really make it dark. The hummer perches on a lip inside the skylight so I have to reach up, carefully catch him in my hand, and send him under the eves. While my hummingbird was flying in the garage I thought it was a female. Then when I could see close up before flying off outside I noticed a couple of small markings.
