There was a hummingbird in my kitchen tonight when I came home. After watching it fly around for about 15 minutes, I googled how to catch a trapped hummingbird. Thank you so much!! We turned off the lights, it landed on top of a cupboard, I scooped it up in my hands, and took it outside. It flew up into a tree-- I hope it will be okay, because it's still dark outside...

We have a front porch with three skylights. Lots of hummingbirds in the yard. This year is the first year that they've been getting caught in the skylights. May be because we have a hanging basket with red petunias on the porch this year. Can't really make it dark. The hummer perches on a lip inside the skylight so I have to reach up, carefully catch him in my hand, and send him under the eves. Once perched, they seem not to be too worried about the contact. I was surprised.

This my second posting in 3 years. This Spring when we got a trapped hummer, I just hung a feeder from the top of the carport opening and left him alone. In a few minutes he was busily feeding and I shooed him away and replaced the feeder.

I have to correct myself. While my hummingbird was flying in the garage I thought it was a female. Then when I could see close up before flying off outside I noticed a couple of small markings. After researching, it was a juvenile male ruby throated hummingbird. And he was beautiful.

Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!!

Another almost identical story and a saved hummingbird! In my case, the garage didn't get dark enough for the flashlight attraction but it was dark enough to settle down the hummer. I then collected her in my hand and let her free outside the garage. The most amazing part is that she staying in my hand for probably two minutes after I opened it. She was most beautiful.

Thanks again!!

Always good to read about baseball and its players, I've played since a kid..

Can I ask though - how did you get this picked up and into google news?

Very impressive, is it something that is just up to Google or you actively created?

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data so well done on your seo success..
